Welcome! I’m Evelyn Morgan and I am based in Bedford in the UK. I became a full-time artist over 4 years ago now. I have since then been featured in collections and publications and have sold artwork all over the world.
When creating my art, I try to find new ways to present a portrait. I have an unapologetic enthusiasm for colour. When starting a painting I look to see what colour combinations work, sometimes inspired by the colours in the image, my mood at the time or everyday colour combinations which I observe. I especially like looking at interior design and the colour choices in a room. My portraits are of models of men and women in makeup and fashion. I believe this comes from my interest in fashion and makeup artistry growing up, I fondly remember buying fashion magazines to specifically look at the fashion adverts. After my Art Foundation, I studied Graphic Design, and this is a huge influence on the way I approach my artwork. I use editing and digital means to sketch and design my artwork and ‘play’ with compositions, lines, and shapes. While all my concepts are designed and planned, the creative process is intuitive and I see my work as a reflection of myself, whether is a mood a feeling or a thought.
